Police Charge Man, 24, with DUI on Post Rd.

A man was driving over the center line on the Post Road early Saturday evening, and when they stopped him they found he was driving while intoxicated, police said.

Police stopped a 24-year-old man driving on the Post Road early Saturday evening and arrested him on a charge of driving while under the influence.

Darien police gave this account of the incident:

At about 6:20 p.m., Luis Lanzo of Bridgeport was driving a 1996 Honda Accord east on the Post Road when police saw him travel over the center line several times.

Lanzo was stopped near the Post Road's intersection with Thorndal Circle. He was given field sobriety tests and failed them. Police also found he didn't have a driver license with him.

Lanzo, of Merchant St. in Bridgeport, was charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol, failing to carry a driver license and failure to drive right. He posted a $250 bond and is to appear Feb. 13 in state Superior Court in Stamford.
