Republican Hopefuls Rally at Tokeneke Club

Nearly every GOP candidate on the November ballot in Darien turned out to the reception.

Over a dozen Republican candidates for local, state, and federal office were in town Sunday evening for the "Party Party," a reception organized by the political action committee recently formed by one former and three current GOP selectmen.

The $100-a-head fundraiser featured appearances and brief speeches by U.S. Senate candidate Linda McMahon, gubernatorial nominee Tom Foley, lieutenant governor nominee Mark Boughton, fourth district congressional hopeful Dan Debicella, Darien/New Canaan probate judge nominee Mike Murray, state Rep. Terrie Wood, state Senate hopeful Bob Kolenberg, state comptroller candidate Jack Orchulli, state treasurer nominee Jeff Wright, and secretary of state hopeful Jerry Farrell, among others. Darien RTC chair Harry Artinian and several of his predecessors were also on hand, as well as numerous party officials and prominent New Canaan Republicans.

The committee behind the Tokeneke Club reception, We Are United, was created by First Selectman Dave Campbell, Selectman Jerry Nielsen, and Selectman Jayme Stevenson—who together emceed the event—along with former Selectman Seth Morton.
