Top 3 Things for This Weekend: Sunset Sailing, Live Music and a Sunday Stroll

After the holiday, there's still plenty to do around town and nearby.

So the fireworks are over for the Fourth of July holiday, but that doesn't mean there's a dearth of fun activities and events this weekend. Here's Darien Patch's Top 3 picks for the weekend.

SUNSET SAIL – Spend your Friday evening aboard the tall ship SoundWaters for a relaxing cruise along Long Island Sound. Bring your dinner and your favorite beverage and relax while watching the sun dip below the horizon. Departs in Stamford at the Harbor Point Marina at 6:30 p.m., July 5. LIVE MUSIC –If you don't like sailing, check out the live music Friday night, July 5, at the Grove Street Plaza. Kicking off at 6 p.m., Chasing Day is playing as part of the third night of the Darien Summer Nights Series. The event is free and open to all.

WALKING TOUR – Taking place at the Fairfield Museum and History Center at 370 Beach Road in Fairfield, the Burning or Fairfield Walking Tour is a "stroll back in time," that explores "the history and events surrounding the attack on Fairfield by the British on July 7, 1779." Starts at 4 p.m. on July 7. To pre-register, which is requested, call (203) 259-1598.
