Week in Review

A summary of the week's events, July 26 - Aug. 1.

Down at Town Hall, the RTM's Government Structure and Administration Committee held a public hearing on two proposed changes to the Town Charter, while the Darien Junior Football League made its pitch for the use of temporary practice lights. Next door, the Board of Education laid out its goals for the coming year and approved several appointments and leaves.

For those with an eye on Hartford, GOP senate hopeful Linda McMahon swung through town, and state legislators (including Sen. Bob Duff) unveiled a report criticizing the condition of many Connecticut roads, bridges, and highways.

Darien Police reported the results of an undercover drug bust, the arrest of a man charged with assaulting a woman over a fender bender, and—yes—the theft of a tricycle. The fire log, meanwhile, featured a smoking toaster and falling trees.
