Letter: Silsby Has Experience, Is Non-partisan

To the editor:

I will be voting for Shannon Silsby for Board of Education on Nov. 5.

While working with our school district and BoE [Board of Education] to correct the speciale ducation violations, I have learned that creating efficiencies and retaining excellence under federal and state mandates is essential.

Shannon is uniquely qualified to navigate our responsibilities under the bureaucracy of government agencies while remaining accessible and transparent.

As a businesswoman and co-chair of the Royle PTO, she is well situated to solve our fiscal challenges.  As a YWCA Board member, catechist at St. Thomas More and frequent fan on our sports fields, Shannon will represent us as a listener and problem solver.

Board of Education members have party affiliations, but this is one agency where non-partisanship is paramount.  Shannon will work with all members to ensure that our town continues to nurture all students.
