Benefit Chamber Music Concert for A Better Chance in Darien

Akiko Silver, Co-Founder and Artistic Director of the Chamber Music Institute will perform with other CMI faculty in a concert to benefit A Better Chance in Darien.  Her instrument, on loan from David Segal Violins for the occasion, was made by Antonio Gragnani of Livorno, Italy in 1776. The concert will be held at 5PM on Sunday November 17 at the First Congregational Church of Darien. Suggested minimum donation at the door is $10.

A Better Chance in Darien provides academic and boarding scholarships to academically talented girls of color from underserved areas, allowing them to realize their academic and social potential while living in Darien and attending Darien High School.  The program has operated for 32 years with the generous support and involvement of the Darien community.  More information can be found at www.abcdarien.org

The Chamber Music Institute is a summer learning program held at the University of Maine providing students the unique opportunity to study and perform with experienced chamber musicians, discover new music, and learn from playing from each other.
