BLESSING OF THE ANIMALS

Rain or Shine!
First Congregational Church of Darien will host a

community-wide outdoor Blessing of the Animals on Sunday, Sept. 22 at 11:15
a.m.

The Blessing will take place on the

church’s front lawn at 14 Brookside Road, after the 10:00 a.m. service.

As
always, the morning worship is also open to the general public.

The
general public is invited to bring pets of all kinds as Rev. Dale Rosenberger
will offer a special blessing for each individual animal and the family who
brings them. “This blessing celebrates the

role that animals and pets play in our lives,” said Rev. Rosenberger.

“They  give us unconditional love, companionship and

comfort.    The love they give us is the same love we share with

each other, the same love God extends to us.  They are full members of our

families;  God’s redemptive sweep includes them. We welcome everyone to

bring their pets large and small – mammal, reptile, avian or fish– to join us

this open blessing.”
