Darien Middle School Students Can Get Ready for School this Summer

Darien, CT, July 15, 2014 – Middlesex Middle School will be the location of the evidence-based S4 Study Skills workshop for middle school students. The workshops foster academic achievement by teaching students key study strategies that help them learn and achieve better academic success.

The S4 workshop for students in grades 5 through 8 will run from Tuesday, August 12, through Thursday, August 14, from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Middlesex Middle School, 204 Hollow Tree Ridge Rd, in Darien.

The S4 program is designed to bolster academic confidence, motivation, and test and homework preparation as academic workload and course expectations rise. The focus of S4 workshops includes: note-taking skills; active learning strategies; understanding main ideas and important details; time management; organization; and preparation strategies for quizzes, tests and long-term projects.
