Darien YMCA's Community Open House

The Darien YMCA will be holding their Community Open House on Saturday, September 14th from 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM.  This is a free community-wide event designed for the whole family and will include sailing, a musician, bounce houses, a magician, fitness classes, food and more. 

Over 1,000 people attended the First Annual Open House last September that celebrated the grand re-opening of the Darien YMCA after the facilities renovation was completed in 2012.  The renovation included a state-of-the art gymnastics center, a completely new Holly Pond Nursery School Building, updated adult locker rooms, refurbished adult fitness training center and the installation of cogeneration systems powered by natural gas that significantly reduced the Y's energy consumption, environmental impact and carbon footprint.

"Our Second Annual Community Open House is a great way for us to celebrate all that the Y has to offer to the community and more importantly, allow the community to learn about all the programs we provide," said Pat Morrissey, Executive Director of the Darien YMCA.  All are invited September 14th to the Darien YMCA to continue the celebration of the new facilities and learn more about the Y's programs and offerings.
