DCA Brasilian Carnival! Saturday, March 1st

The Darien Community Association (DCA) is pleased to announce their 2014 Brasilian Carnival! will be held on Saturday, March 1st. The festivities, from 7pm ‘til late, will include live music from Amazonas, carnival dance performances by Arthur Murray Grand Ballroom of Greenwich, delicious Latin American-inspired food provided by Marcia Selden Catering and Event Planning, an open bar and silent auction. Dress will be festive - of course! This year’s honorary chairman is Marge Harrington.

Many party-goers have tickets so they can dance to the 5-piece band, Amazonas, and enjoy the open bar. Others are eager to devour the scrumptious Latin American-inspired food provided by Marcia Selden Catering and Event Planning. Yet others look to enjoy the performance, and maybe even dance with the dancers – clad in brightly colored Brasilian garb - from Arthur Murray Grande Ballroom of Greenwich. Of course several are there just to support the DCA as the largest provider of scholarships to Darien High School (DHS) graduates.

To add to the excitement, nearly 50 special silent auction packages are available, to include: round-trip tickets on Jet Blue; a cocktail party for 25 from Marcia Selden Catering; stadium seats to see the Chicago Bears; jewelry pieces from local designers Lauren Chisolm and Lynne Mercein; family portrait sessions from David Emberling studio; Afternoon Tea at your home for up to 20 from Carolyn’s Absolutely Fabulous Events; or, for the little girls, an outfit from Wiggles & Giggles followed by an Arthur Murray dance party with friends.
