DYHA Can Drive

Please help Darien Youth Hockey Association PeeWee A's support Blessings in a

Backpack

This weekend we're having a drive to collect cans of chili, stew and chicken noodle soup for Blessings in a Backpack.  Collection boxes will be at both ice rinks this weekend.

Blessings

in a Backpack (www.blessingsinabackpack.org) is a nonprofit organization that

strives to support the 62% of elementary school students in America who qualify

for the free or reduced-price meal program. Students that qualify for free or

reduced meals often do not receive the right amount of nutrition on weekends,

which can negatively affect their performance in the classroom.  Each

Friday during the school year, students supported by Blessings in a Backpack

are given a certain amount of food to ensure that they don’t go hungry over the

weekend.
