Bullying: Recent Trends and Solutions for Parents and Schools
Is bullying truly becoming a more pervasive and violent problem? It would appear that increased anti-bullying efforts in schools are at direct odds with what the media is reporting. What is really happening in our schools and what do we need to do to create and sustain positive school environments?
Dr. Christopher Bogart, Clinical Psychologist and Executive Director of The Southfield Center for Development, will explore this complicated issue by examining what research is telling us about students involved in bullying incidents and how bullying is best addressed by parents and schools. He will speak about the impact of bullying and harassment on learning and social development, and offer comment regarding the hot-button variation on the traditional theme: cyberbullying.
