'Guardians' Movie Friday Benefits Holiday Gift Drive

Sponsored by the Selectman’s Office, the Darien Youth Commission, the Darien Social Services Department, the Depot and the movie theater, this year’s community-wide film is “The Rise of the Guardians.”

The movie, which will start at 4 p.m. Friday, is “free,” however in lieu of payment, each movie-goer is asked to bring donations as follows:  a new toy, gift cards (e.g. Barnes & Nobles; Walmart; CVS; Walgreen’s; Target; Subway; local eateries; etc.), books, etc.  (All items should be new and unwrapped with a value of at least $10 each.)

To get tickets, an adult should come to the Darien Youth Commission office in the Town Hall (Room 110) on Thursday, 11/29 or Friday, 11/30 until 1:00 p.m.  Tickets will be issued for admission at this time.  Movie-goers should bring tickets and gifts to the theater for admissions.  (Theater doors will open @ 3:30.)
