Darien Youth Hockey U8 Ice Cats end-of-season Zumba party

The fearless, tireless young ladies that make up the U8 roster for the Darien Youth Hockey Association's Ice Cats finished their strong season in style--with a high-energy Zumba party at Flair Fitness Darien, led by bubbly Zumba instructor Amber Allen. This team has come such a long way, which Head Coach John Massey, would be the first to tell you. All of the girls on this team had to play on a co-ed house team throughout the season, and they had the choice to play on this supplemental all-girls team. Many of the player's parents would joke that upon waking their hockey player in the morning right before an early game, their daugher would ask, "Is this game for my boys' team or my girls' team?" If the answer was the girls' team, the daughter would quickly bounce out of bed and suit up in her fierce blue and white uniform. Many player parents also agreed that this all-girl developmental program gave their daughter more confidence on the ice, while having a blast. Though they got crushed by the New York City Chelsea Piers' River Rats the morning of the party, the girls vowed, over their blue and white cupcakes, that they'd take down this opponent the next time they met. There's nothing like dancing to Shakira to restore your confidence.
