Learn Canasta at the DCA!

The Darien Community Association will host another Beginning Canasta class with Experienced instructor Sue Ozanne, from January 8th.

In Canasta, commonly referred to as ‘Argentine Rummy’, four players forming two partnerships use 2 decks of cards to create ‘melds’ of 7 cards that lead one group to eventually ‘go out’ and win.  In these sessions, students will learn the flow of the game, how to create melds, point values, scoring and going out, as well as tips on strategies to help your partnership come out ahead.

Canasta is a great game to play with friends.  Players have fun learning and playing the game, but at the same time they can socialize (yes, unlike bridge or Mah Jongg, you can talk during Canasta).

Beginning Canasta will run from 9am to 10:30am on Tuesdays, January 8, 15 and 22.  Fees are $80 for the public; $60 for DCA members.  Reservations are required, and will close at a maximum of 12 students.
