The New Year is a great time to improve your canasta skills, with “Hand and Foot” Canasta from Wednesday, January 9th.
In this more advanced Canasta class, 4 decks of cards in total are used, with “Hand” and “Foot” referring to the 2 hands each player holds. This level is perfect for those who have taken Beginning Canasta or are already familiar with the game.
Canasta is a great game to play with friends. Players have fun learning and playing the game, but at the same time they can socialize (yes, unlike bridge or Mah Jongg, you can talk during Canasta).
“Hand and Foot” Canasta will be held from 9 to 11am over three consecutive Wednesdays, January 9, 16 and 23. Fees for this more advanced class are $85 for the public; $65 for DCA members. Reservations are required for the class, and will close at a maximum of 12 students. To enroll, please contact the DCA at firstname.lastname@example.org, or by phone to 203-655-9050 during office hours of 9am to 3pm Monday through Thursday, or 9am to 12pm Friday. Classes are held at the DCA, 274 Middlesex Road in Darien. To receive notice of upcoming programs via email, contact the DCA.
