After continued popular demand, S4 has announced it will offer the Successful Study Skills 4 Students Program to area middle schoolers for a third Winter at Middlesex Middle School. The program focuses on offering tools and strategies in time management, executive functioning and organizational skills - essential tools for academic success allowing students to be more confident and better prepared for school, while also providing the critically needed tools for life beyond.
Research demonstrates the when students know how to study they are more confident, engaged and happier at school.
“Study skills are critical and the necessary foundation for academic success,” said Michelle Sagalyn, President of S4. “We are excited to offer this successful program in Darien so their students, and those in neighboring communities, can take advantage of these important tools at the start of new year.”
The evidenced-based S4 program is founded on proven educational research, and taught by accredited, dynamic teachers. In a highly participatory presentation, students will learn essential easy-to-implement skills needed for successful learning and studying, including:

- How to build on new ideas & info
- Using your planner
- Active learning
- Asking questions to self-advocate
- Memorization strategies
- Goal setting

“We know that implementing even a single new skill can make a big difference in a student’s love of learning,” continued Ms Sagalyn.
Limited class size of 15 ensures that all students get personalized attention. In addition, S4 supplies all materials, including exclusive how-to guides for at-home support.
The five-session workshop, which is designed to integrate students’ schoolwork into the program, will be held on Tuesdays, January 29, Feb 5, 12, 26, and March 5, from 5:00 – 6:30 pm.
