Ivanhoe Lodge No. 107 Open House & Food Drive

IVANHOE LODGE #107 A.F. & A.M. WILL HOLD AN OPEN HOUSE ON OCTOBER 19TH.

On October 19, 2013, Darien’s Ivanhoe Lodge #107 of Ancient Free & Accepted Masons will hold an Open House for all interested area residents. The Open House will occur at their home at the Masonic Club of Darien, 354 Boston Post Rd, and run from 11AM to 6 PM. Anyone with an interest or curiosity about the Lodge or the Brotherhood of Freemasonry is welcome to attend and bring their families. Lodge Brothers will be available all day to discuss our fraternity. This will surely be an informative and enjoyable day of activities, designed to explain and in some cases dispel, some of the myths surrounding the Masonic order.

In conjunction with the Open House, the Masonic Club of Darien will be hosting a barbecue, to help support The Food Bank of Lower Fairfield County. To partake in the barbecue fare, please bring a bag of non-perishable food items to be donated to the Food Bank of Lower Fairfield County. The most needed food can be found in the following list: canned chicken, canned tuna, breakfast cereals, pasta, pork and beans, bottled and boxed juices, powdered milk, Parmalat milk, peanut butter, grape jelly, soups, macaroni and cheese, applesauce, coffee, dried beans, canned black beans.

Throughout the day there will be 3 sets of live rootsy reggae and blues music, by local band Accidental Breakdown starting at approximately 12:00PM. There will also be children’s entertainment.

The Open House is held yearly in conjunction with a state-wide Open House at all Masonic Lodges in Connecticut. All are welcome to come and discover the local heritage of Ivanhoe Lodge #107, which has been an active Lodge in Darien since 1929, with an original charter that dates to the late 1800’s. Many notable Darien citizens can be counted among the past and present members of the Lodge. For further information please call the Lodge at 203-655-2040.
