Keeping your Money Safe From Scams

Don McGran Jr., security adviser for Fairfield County Bank and
Ridgefield Visiting Nurse Association will be presenting a program called
“Keeping your money safe from scams.” Topics like mail, phone and computer
scams, financial abuse, bank fraud, and much more will be covered by this
informative program.  Mr. McGran will
talk about the most common scams currently hitting the town of Darien. He’ll
provide tips on how to avoid scams, such as preventing a PIN (personal
identification number) from being scammed from an ATM. There will be handouts
at the program, including a list of resources, such as phone numbers for
Protective Services for the Elderly and the Western Connecticut Area Agency on
Aging and Connecticut Legal Services.
