'Home for the Holidays' Event a Benefit for Post 53

Nielsen’s Florist in Darien, CT will be holding their 3rd annual “Home for the Holidays” event in their conservatory at 1405 Post Rd, Darien on November 14th from 5:30-8:30 p.m. This event will benefit Darien EMS-Post 53.

Nielsen’s “Home for the Holidays” event features local designers who will create their own interpretation of a holiday tablescape. Designers this year include Greg Pollack, Elissa Grayer, Stephanie Sigg of Country Designs and Nielsen’s own designers.

Sandy Nielsen, General Manager of Nielsen’s had this to say: “We’re really looking forward to supporting a local organization that is near and dear to everyone’s hearts. Darien EMS-Post 53 not only makes a critical difference to members of our community every day, but also empowers young people as they enter into adulthood with skills that last a lifetime.”

While soaking up the enchanting holiday atmosphere, guests can take advantage of the great holiday decorating ideas while enjoying wine and hors d’oeuvres provided by Michael Joseph’s. Previous events have attracted more than150 guests, raising close to $5,000.

Nancy Herling, Assistant Director of Darien EMS-Post 53 is hoping the event will raise awareness and needed funds for the organization. “As the community gears up for a season of thanks and giving, this event is a terrific opportunity to support an organization that is here for them all year long. And at the same time, get some creative ideas for the holidays! There will be some great door prizes and it’s a fun way to start your holiday shopping.”

Tickets are $10 at the door and includes one door prize ticket. All ticket proceeds and 10 percent of the evening’s sales will benefit Darien EMS-Post 53. Please call 203-655-2541 for more information.
