Books Dad Might Like for Father's Day

Walk into Barrett's Bookstore and ask for Father's Day gift ideas, and here's what they'll suggest (but if you can tell them what interests your Dad, they might find an even better pick-- Father's Day is June 16):

-- "Norman Rockwell's Treasury for Fathers" (a large picture book of the artist's paintings)

-- "Those Angry Days: Roosevelt, Lindbergh and America's Fight over World War II, 1939-1941" by Lynne Olson (a New York Times best seller that recounts the debate over American intervention in the war, with Lindbergh, later a Tokeneke resident, in the thick of it)

-- "Inferno," by Dan Brown, another mystery/thriller by the best-selling author

-- "The Guns at Last Light," by Rick Atkinson (part of his Civil War history trilogy)

-- "A Chain of Thunder: A Novel of the Siege of Vicksburg," by Jeff Shaara (about the decisive Civil War battle)

-- "Embers of War: The Fall of an Empire and the Making of America's Vietnam, " by Fredrik Logevall

-- "Walking with Jack: A Father's Journey to Become his Son's Caddie," by Dan J. Snyder

-- "A Delicate Truth," by John Le Carre (spies, diplomats and the war on terror)
