Where to Get Help with Your Mortgage

Homeowners who need help with their mortgages, such as loan modifications, foreclosure prevention and assistance from the state and federal government may attend a free event Nov. 28 in Waterbury.

The Connecticut Department of Banking on Friday issued this announcement on an event for homeowners who need information or help with their mortgages (see also the flyer attached as a document to this article):

A free, mortgage-assistance event for homeowners who need information or help with loan modifications, foreclosure prevention, state and federal assistance programs and other lending-related issues will be held Wednesday, Nov. 28, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Conference Center at CoCo Key, 3580 East Main St., Waterbury.  Free parking is available.

Representatives from various mortgage lenders and loan servicing companies will be available to discuss your case personally.  Among them are: Bank of America; CitiMortgage; Fannie Mae; First Niagara Bank;  Freedom Mortgage, GMAC Mortgage; HSBC National Bank USA;  JPMorgan Chase & Co.;  McCue Mortgage; Ocwen Loan Servicing; OneWest Bank/Indymac Mortgage Services; PNC Mortgage; People’s United Bank; Webster Bank and Wells Fargo Home Mortgage.

HUD-approved housing counseling agencies, the Connecticut Housing Finance Authority, Judicial Branch Mediation and other state and non-profit agencies will provide additional assistance to homeowners.

A full list of participating banks and agencies is available on the following website, www.ct.gov/dob/homeowner, which also lists the documents a homeowner needs to bring for assistance and directions to the event.  Be sure to check the website periodically, as information on how to pre-register with your lender will be updated as the event draws closer.
