85 Pets Made Safer! The 3rd in a series.

A FREE micro-chip clinic just made 85 pets safer! Watch for the next.

This past Saturday, at Stamford Ford, 212 Magee Ave., 85 more pets were made safer in the Stamford and surrounding communities.  Outreach to Pets In Need held its 3rd quarterly FREE micro-chip clinic on November 10th.  It was heart warming to feel that much love in just one place.  People and their pets - nothing puts a smile on someone's face like a pet.

Known as Project Chip'n, this is just one of the programs OPIN offers the community to support its mission of "putting an end to pet homelessness".  It was a beautiful fall day as owners of their pets came out and took advantage of our FREE offer to receive a micro-chip and lifetime registration in the HomeAgain registry and enjoyed donuts and cider.  To-date OPIN has sponsored the chipping of 267 loved pets, but whose counting? The goal? - to chip EVERY pet.

If you haven't yet had your pet chipped, please look for announcement of our next clinic to be held in February 2013 coinciding with Valentine's Day.  What more perfect time to LOVE them and make them safer?  Look for upcoming dates to be announced on our website:  www.opinpets.org.

We wish to thank Stamford Ford for hosting the location of the event and Dianna Shattuck DVM and Ms. Tara Flanagan, Practice Manager (, who offered their valuable time and tender love to make these 85 pets safer.  High Ridge Animal Hospital (www.hrvets.com) also gave away a lovely cat and dog gift basket to a lucky pet owner.

Outreach to Pets In Need (OPIN) is a 501c3 nonprofit that has supported the Stamford Animal Shelter since 2007.  To learn more, visit:  www.opinpets.org
