New Healthy Fast-Food Restaurant Seeking Employees

A new fast-food joint in Darien and Greenwich will serve portable, healthy options through a drive-thru.

There's a new fast food joint coming to town, and this one isn't offering traditional fries, burgers and shakes. Palmwich, which is opening its first location this May at 205 Boston Post Road in Darien, will offer hand-held food that's healthy, to boot.

"We're about real food you can get through a drive-thru," Palmwich co-founder Jamie Galler, 52, said in a phone interview. "You can get good food out there and you can get fast food, but often not at the same time."

All through a drive-thru window, the restaurant will begin offering lunch and dinner immediately, and breakfast a few weeks after opening, Galler said. All menu options will be priced at under $10 and can be viewed on the Palmwich website in about a week.

This fall, Palmwich is set to open a second location in Greenwich, Conn.

In the meantime, Palmwich is seeking to hire about 25 employees for front-of-house, back-of-house and leadership roles at competitive wages for its Darien location. "We're most interested in attitude and an ability to smile," Galler said. "We want employees that are representative of our brand and able to execute our mission."
