Amazon Getting Into Grocery Business

Amazon, the online retailing giant, is getting into the grocery business, according to a Reuters report on CBSNews.com today.

Amazon has been testing a grocery delivery service called AmazonFresh in Seattle for at least five years, Reuters reported.

The service uses Amazon's own fleet of trucks to deliver fresh food products such as fruit, eggs and meat to customers who order groceries online, Reuters said.

Amazon may expand the service to Los Angeles and San Francisco later this year, and if successful, it might start serving 20 other cities and outside the U.S. next year, a source told Reuters.
