Governor Dannel P. Malloy recognized three time State Geography Bee Champion, Michael Borecki (center), his coach, Barbara Ivey (far right) and his family at the State Capitol on Monday, June 3.
The meeting was organized by State Rep. Terrie Wood (R-149). Rep. Terrie Wood and Sen. Carlo Leone (D-27) were with Michael to receive his proclamation from the Governor.
After his meeting with the Governor, Rep. Terrie Wood introduced him and Barbara on the floor of the House of Representatives. Barbara was recognized for coaching 7 state winners, a National record. Michael also holds a National record with 3 state wins.
