Josephine Mary Marinella Rogers, 90, Lifelong Darien Resident

Josephine Mary Marinella Rogers a lifelong resident of Darien passed away at Stamford Hospital on Sept. 21, 2012. She was born in Darien on Jan. 7, 1922 to the late Giovanni Marinella and Giovanna (Spero) Marinella. She was 90.
Josephine graduated from Darien High School and was a longtime employee of Bradlees before retiring. She was a member of St. John Roman Catholic Church in Darien and their Cancer Sewing Group for many years. Above all, Josephine loved her family and enjoyed cooking for them.
She is survived by her two sons, Thomas P. Rogers and his wife, Ginny of Stratford and Patrick J. Rogers and his wife, Cyndee of Darien, three grandchildren, Christina Lewis and her husband, Brad, and Tricia and Patrick Rogers and two great-grandsons, Nathan and Christopher Lewis and many nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her husband Joseph J. Rogers, three brothers, Carmine, James and John Marinella, three sisters, Jean Marinella, Mary Cerullo and Louise Stamatis.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Wednesday Sept. 26, at St. John Church, 1986 Post Rd. Mrs. Rogers is buried at St. John's Cemetery in Norwalk.
