Darien EMS-Post 53 Offers First Aid, CPR and AED Training to Darien Businesses, Organizations and Individuals; New Classes Starting in 2014

Recently Trained Staff of 24 at Playdates Playschool

DARIEN, CT (November 25, 2013) – Darien EMS-Post 53 today announced that it will continue to offer First Aid, CPR and AED training classes to Darien businesses, organizations and individuals in 2014.  Most recently, Post 53 members Nancy Herling, Joan Gildea and Antonia Basu trained the staff of Maureen Bloom’s Playdates, re-certifying all 24 staff members in First Aid, CPR and AED.

“Staying current in these critical skills is an important part of our job,” said Bloom.  “Having easy access to this type of excellent training for my staff right here in our community is a great service.”  Playdates is a unique play school concept specially designed for children aged 18-36 months, where classes rotate meeting at each child's home in Darien, New Canaan and Rowayton.  Each class is limited to eight children with two trained teachers.  This structure makes it essential that each staff member be fully trained and re-certified on a regular basis.
