Student Fulfill High Standards

New Beginnings Family Academy is proud to announce that on June 18th, at the Bijou Theatre in Bridgeport, all 34 students in the class of 2014 walked across the stage and joined their predecessors as alumni. Over the course of their elementary and middle school careers, these children have been given a rigorous education and have been taught the STRETCH (Strategic, Thoughtful, Respectful, Empathetic, Trustworthy, Consistent and Hardworking) principles to guide them into the next phase of life.

Excel Bridgeport is an education advocacy group that works to higher the educational goals of the city. As a product of the Bridgeport school system and a resident of Bridgeport, Zambrano can empathize with both students and parents.

Valedictorian and student speaker Mi’kiahya Black has attended NBFA since kindergarten and says her classmates have become her family since they have spent the past nine years together.  In the fall, Mi’kiahya will leave her NBFA family and start her new life at Trumbull High School. When asked about her classmates she said: “We’re all going to miss the staff and teachers at NBFA.”

As the Class of 2014 is moving on, the staff at NBFA would like to wish them the best as they exit our doors and enter the doors of their respective high schools. They will truly be missed.
