Vote for Shannon Silsby for BOE on Tuesday

Please join us in voting for Shannon Silsby for the Board of Education.  We have been so impressed by Shannon since we came to Darien a year and a half ago.  Shannon took the time to include our children in activities to help their transition to a new town and make our family feel welcome.  As we approached the steps of Royle School, she greeted us with a warm smile, “You must be the Gunn’s”.  How did she know who we were?  She made it her business to find out who a new family joining the school was, seek us out to welcome us, and make us feel like part of the community.  She clearly cares about others, especially the children in Darien.

As many others have written, Shannon has excellent business, communication, and organizational skills.  In her role as PTO President, we have seen Shannon embrace new ideas and rally people together for the larger good.  Shannon has demonstrated an ability to work well with others, and take the higher road when faced with adversity.

Shannon understands the issues facing our town and our schools.  She is willing to take a stand when necessary, and compromise when needed.  We don’t believe party lines make a difference when it comes to our children’s education.   Shannon is the outstanding choice for the Board of Education.  We hope you agree, and come out to support her on Tuesday.
