Is It Time to Fish or Cut Bait?

Finally, there is no need to fish or cut bait. Our government will provide.

I have to admit for the first time in my life I don't know the answer to that question.

It doesn't seem as though either step is going to make much difference. If I fish and catch a good catch, my taxes will go up so much as to be punitive. Plus people who don't bother to try to fish will be entitled to a big portion of my catch.

If I cut bait, I will be taxed on my wealth of bait and/or be made to share the bait with those who don't know how to cut bait or even want to cut bait.

In the past, I may have been able to deduct the cost of the bait but now I am not sure. I do know that I cannot hire anyone to help me either fish or cut bait as I will have to provide them with health insurance or pay a fine.

So, in the end I won't hire anyone, or if I do, I'll limit the cutter or fisherman to 29 hours so I can avoid the added cost of health insurance. Of course, if I don't provide health insurance for the person I hire or don't hire, my taxes will have risen to such a level that health insurance will be provided for the non- cutter/fisherman any way.

If I don't fish or cut bait, I can get the fish I need and/or the bait plus the health insurance I couldn't afford in the first place? Wow!

Now if only I could get a free cell phone and a TV and housing assistance then fishing or cutting bait wouldn't matter at all! What's that? You say I can get a free cell phone, TV and housing and not have to worry about the smell and grime of fish or bait?

Now the decision is getting easier. Maybe I won't do either. I'll sit in my government provided home, eat my meals, watch my TV, and make my cell phone calls.

Is this the country you want for your children and grandchildren? I sure as bleep don't. If you do, Shame on You!

If you think you know the best way to run the nation's economy, then you don't know the best way to run the nation's economy. This is PhD/MBA stuff - beyond the realm of 99.99% internet bloggers especially those who have subscribed to certain dogmas. It's like my cleaning lady giving me advice on the best way to perform brain surgery.

How sad! Your cleaning lady's talents are going to waste. It takes real genius to know that you have to spend less then you take in but I bet your cleaning lady already knows that and doesn't need a PHD to tell her so. Politicans of all stripes are guilty when they don't put their foot down and say knock it off. Now we at this household live within our means. We live within a budget. Some people apparently don't feel the need to do that. We call them government. Why can they do this? Because all they have to do is raise your taxes. Wish I could do that. If you can, good for you. But in the meantime Shame on Us for letting our politicians do this to us and get away with it.
