30 Bras, 5-finger Discount, 6-lane Highway, K-9 Catch

Being an accounting of the more curious crimes of the county, including the bizarre brassiere caper.

2 men, 30 bras: Two men , an estimated $1,000 value, from the Fairfield Post Road lingerie shop earlier this week.

6 lanes: A led police on a foot chase onto I-95, which ended in police discharging a Taser at the man.

The employee was apparently upset at a schedule change his manager mad, police said.

6 lanes and a K9: Darien Police say they noticed two males trying to break into the VCA Darien Animal Hospital from the roof early on Tuesday morning. Although a perimeter was established around the building, both suspects ran through it, police said.

During the search, an officer spotted two suspects running along I-95 North near exit 12. When the suspects spotted the officer, they " and jumped down an embankment," Darien Police Sgt. Jeremiah Marron said.

Zulu, the department's K-9, then led police on a second track from the shoulder of southbound I-95 to the top of a nearby rock formation, where police say they  found a 17-year-old Bronx boy and charged him with the attempted burglary. Police still want to find the person they say was with him.

2.1 carats: After a Darien resident told police that the 2.1-carat, pear-shaped diamond from a ring of hers had been , town police arrested a technician from a pest-control service, and charged him with the theft.

Police had discovered that a similar incident had taken place in Stamford, and that the same man from the pest-control service was in both homes. Although the man had been told to stay in the basement of the Darien home when he did work there in May, a maid said he had briefly gone upstairs where the diamond was kept.

2 times in 11 days: There's a man in or around Greenwich who favors wearing a black or dark-blue NY Yankee baseball hat, a dark brown hooded sweatshirt, dark brown baggy sweatpants, and People's Bank branches, which he robs.

In the second time in 11 days, a man wearing those clothes walked into a People's Bank branch and handed a teller a note demanding money. at the Riverside branch at 1155 E. Putnam Ave. The robber left the bank with a bag of money the teller gave him, but was probably a bit red-faced—not to mention in need of a change of clothing—after the dye pack in the bag exploded.
