Darien Woman One of Four New Greenwich Police Officers

Aran J. Tradel of Darien was one of four new Greenwich police officers sworn in on Monday.

It was a heady day Monday for four new recruits of the Greenwich Police Department—including Aran J. Tradel from Darien—as they were sworn in in a Town Hall ceremony and spent their first day on the job.

Tradel is a graduate of Lewis Central High School in Council Bluffs, IA and Texas Tech University in Lubbock, TX  where she earned a bachelor’s degree in chemistry with a minor in psychology and, in 2011, a master’s degree in interdisciplinary studies/forensic science.

She also completed a three-month internship with the Cedar Falls, IA police department in association with the federal Department of Homeland Security. In Lubbock, she also worked as a pharmacy technician.

The other new officers are: Luke A. Kelly of Harrison, NY; Alan C. Pesce of Greenwich; and Christopher M. Wallace of Brookfield.

The recruits finished their day about 3:30 p.m. Monday and were intent on getting instructions on where to park their cars when they continue their orientation this week.

The new officers will receive training at the Connecticut Police Academy as part of their 18-month probationary period.

The officers are the second group of officers to be hired in less than two months. In January, two officers were sworn in as the department continues to replenish its ranks after various retirements and promotions.
