6 Mailboxes Vandalized on Abbey Road, Edmund Street

Several youths on Abbey Road and Edmund Street and several mailboxes torn from their posts.

A resident of Abbey Road heard a loud bang outside at about 10:30 p.m., Saturday, April 5, and saw several youths run into an SUV. On the ground was a mailbox that had been broken off its post.

Darien police responding to the 10:36 p.m. report found mailboxes at 1 and 3 Abbey Road broken off of their posts. Abbey Road is near the intersection of Hoyt Street and Middlesex Avenue.

Soon there was another report of mailboxes vandalized on Edmund Street, a dead-end road off of Hoyt Street and about half a mile north of Abbey Road.

There police found mailboxes vandalized at 16, 17, 23 and 26 Edmund St.
