Eight tires and rims from two cars at Nissan Darien were stolen overnight from Aug. 7 to 8 by a thief or thieves who jacked up the cars and left them on plastic crates.

The tires were last seen on the evening of Aug. 7 at the dealership, located at 1335 Post Rd. The next morning, the theft was discovered, with lug nuts seen lying on the ground near the two cars. At 9 a.m., the dealership's management reported the theft to police.
The thief or thieves appear to have scaled a rear fence to get access to the cars. Each car was damaged as the tires were removed. The total worth of the stolen items is $8,000.
The stolen wheel rims are made of a high-end alloy, and the tires are described as "low-profile performance".
