A Bee Sting Rescue and an Angry Bird Spree

Unusual arrests and incidents from around the region.

Fairfield emergency responders  from a roof at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield Wednesday morning after the worker suffered a reaction to a bee sting. Firefighters and paramedics reportedly treated the 20-year-old worker while firefighters set up a ladder to take the worker off the roof and lower him to the ground in a Stokes basket and strap system. A firefighter accompanied the worker to the ground and continued treatment, officials said.

A Stamford man turned himself in at New Canaan police headquarters after warrants were issued for his arrest. Kenneth L. Hill had missed repeated court dates following two incidents dating back to 2009. According to police, an intoxicated Hill  at the local Dunkin' Donuts shop on Oct. 22, 2009. Police discovered Hill had failed to respond to those charges when they arrested him the following March. Again intoxicated, police said Hill urinated on a computer in the New Canaan Library. He turned himself in at police headquarters on July 7, 2011.

A local woman taking photos of a family event at Binney Park in Old Greenwich saw more than she bargained for and took photos to prove it. Based upon her photos, Greenwich Police arrested a Stamford man for public indecency on July 13, in connection with the incident.

Wilton Police recently responded to several vandalism complaints in which cars' side view mirrors were shattered overnight. Investigators initially suspected someone was conducting drive-by BB gun shootings from the road, but then a new suspect reared its... well... beak. It turns the , a woodpecker that had been spotting its reflection and furiously pecking at the mirrored glass, shattering it with puncture wounds that resembled a BB gun.
