Accused Home Invader Charged with Second Break-In

Police say 21-year-old Zachary Hession snuck into a Pleasant Street house in April but was scared off by a resident.

A Darien resident accused of last month was arrested for an additional break-in on Monday, according to .

Zachary Hession, 21, was charged with first degree burglary while appearing at State Superior Court in Stamford in connection with a previous case. 

According to Capt. Fred Komm, the charge stems from a complaint filed by a Pleasant Street resident on April 20.

The male complainant told police that he had heard the footsteps of an unknown person coming up the stairs of his house around 11:45 p.m. the night before, and that one of his dogs had begun barking at the intruder. After he yelled at the individual to leave his home, he reportedly saw someone exit his son's room and flee from the house. 

The resident told police that he had left his garage door open and the interior door to the kitchen unlocked that evening. No items were taken in the incident.

When officers interviewed Hession in connection with — in which he allegedly broke into an Allen O'Neill residence and was confronted by one of the occupants — Komm said he admitted that he was also responsible for the April break-in. Hession told police he was attempting to steal items to fund an addiction, according to Komm.

Bond was set at $25,000 for the charge. Hession is currently incarcerated at the Bridgeport Correctional Center.
