Arrest after Darien Woman Says She Found Burglar in Her Home

James Jackson, 47, of Queens, NY, is accused of breaking into a Queens Lane home in Darien.

A woman returning to her Queens Lane home at about 11:15 a.m. Thursday told police she confronted a man on the second floor, who then left, carrying property from the home.

Darien Police responding to the report ran after the man, later identified as James Jackson, 47, and took him into custody not far from the home.

While investigating the Queens Lane burglary, a resident of Goodwives River Road resident reported to police that a man had also entered her home, then fled when she approached him. Jackson was charged with burglarizing that home as well.

During the arrest process Jackson told police he committed a third burglary in Darien on May 15.

Jackson, of 85-52 116th St., in the Richmond Hill section of Queens, NY, was charged with first-degree larceny, third-degree burglary, fifth-degree burglary, two counts of second-degree burglary and two counts of possession of burglar's tools.

He was held in lieu of $150,000 bond and is scheduled to appear Friday in state Superior Court in Stamford.
