The ten-year-old told Sgt. Jeremiah Johnson that his babysitter was having a hard time breathing.
On Jan. 26, ten-year-old Tucker Stoops called 911 when his babysitter, Naida Maldonado, suddenly couldn't breathe. Though she's now expected to make a full recovery, emergency room doctors told Tucker's mother that Maldonado "likely would have died if just a few more minutes elapsed." Tucker Stoops: Um, I'm at 11 Woods End Road, and my babysitter's having a hard time breathing I think.
Sgt. Jeremiah Johnson: Okay, how old are you?

Tucker: I'm 10 years old.
Johnson: Okay, and how old's your babysitter?
Tucker: Um, I don't know quite.
Johnson: Are you with her right now?
Tucker: Yes, and she's making a strange noise. I don't know if she's okay.
Johnson: Okay, she—are her eyes open?
Tucker: Uh, um, let me check. No. Yes. No. Sort of. Not that well.
Johnson: Okay, can she talk?
Tucker: Um, no, she keeps making—
Johnson: Okay, was she eating or anything like that?
Tucker: Uh, I don't think so.
Johnson: Okay, just stay on the line with me, just for a minute, okay?
Tucker: Okay, but, um...
Johnson: Hold on just a second. You're 11 Woods End Road?
Tucker: Yes, I'm 11 Woods End Road, Darien, Connecticut.
Johnson: Okay, hold on. You're doing a great job. Just stay on the line with me, okay? [Dispatching officers] I'm getting a 911 call from a ten-year-old, says his babysitter's having difficulty breathing.
Tucker: Oh my god...
Johnson: She's unresponsive and making strange noises. 11 Woods End Road. Make that a priority response. 11 Woods End Road. [Back to Tucker] Okay, I'm gonna transfer you on the line to someone who's gonna give you some instructions, okay?
Tucker: Okay.
Johnson: Just stay on the phone, okay? You're with your babysitter right now?
Tucker: Yeah.
Johnson: Okay.
Tucker: Excuse me sir?
Johnson: Yeah?
Tucker: Um, can I call my dad?
Johnson: Uh, just stay on the phone, okay?
Tucker: Okay.
Johnson: The officers will help you call your dad, okay?
Tucker: Yes sir.
EMS Dispatch: Emergency medical dispatch.
Johnson: I've got a ten-year-old who's with his babysitter. She's unresponsive, making possible guttural noises.
EMS Dispatch: Alright, what's the address.
Johnson: It's 11 Woods End Road. I'll be dispatching EMS.
EMS Dispatch: Got it.
