Cops: Angry Man Tries to Force His Way into Neighbor's Home

A resident of the Devonshire Drive/Glenwood Drive neighborhood became so angry with another neighborhood resident that he damaged the entranceway of the neighbor's home as he tried to force his way in at 1 a.m., police said.

Darien police gave this account of the incident:

The wife of Dariusz Lesniewski, 37, of Devonshire Drive, was walking on nearby Glenwood Drive with her dog and her children on Thursday, June 13, when she spoke to a resident there.

Police didn't say what the two talked about, but they said it apparently angered her husband so much that at 1 a.m. he showed up at the man's house, banged on the front door and started yelling.

Police were called in on a report that a male was trying to enter the home by force.

The Glenwood Drive man told police he was wakened by the banging and saw that Lesniewski had damaged the door so much that some of the panels had broken free. He told police he saw that Lesniewski was trying to reach in and unlock the door as he yelled at the man.

Lesniewski was charged with criminal attempt to commit second-degree burglary, first-degree criminal mischief and second-degree breach of peace.  He was held on $50,000.00 bond which he did not post, then taken later that morning to state Superior Court in Stamford.
