Cops: Darien Woman in Out-of-Town Fare Dispute

Needham, MA, police took a 27-year-old Darien woman into custody after a cab-fare dispute when she appeared intoxicated.

A 27-year-old Darien woman who allegedly refused to pay cab fare was put into protective custody by police in Massachusetts when she appeared to be intoxicated.

Needham, MA, Police were called to the at around 1:55 a.m. April 19 by a cab driver who was having a fare dispute with his passenger.

The driver told the responding officer that the woman he had picked up in his cab had vomited in the back seat and was refusing to pay her fare.

The woman eventually did pay the money but appeared to be intoxicated, according to reports. She was taken into police custody but not charged.

This incident may call to mind a separate between a town resident and an out-of-town cabbie. That incident resulted in the arrest of William B. Jennings of Darien.
