A Stamford woman was behind bars Thursday after allegedly biting a tow truck driver who surreptitiously taped her threatening to tell police he had raped her if he did not allow her to exchange sexual favors for releasing her car into her possession.

Police said that on Wednesday, Aug. 28, just before midnight Thursday, they stopped Jenise Canman, 45, of 77 Toms Rd., and arranged to have her car towed after it was discovered she was operating the vehicle without a license.

Police gave this account (an accusation not proven in court) about the incident:

During the tow truck hooking up Canman's car, she reportedly asked the driver for a ride to a house, police said, to which the driver agreed. During that ride, Canman allegedly offered sexual services to the driver in exchange for releasing her car and to "forget the whole thing."

Authorities said the man declined the offer, at which point Canman allegedly began threatening the driver that she would tell police he had raped her during the ride if he did not allow her to get her car back through sexual acts.

The driver pulled over and told the woman to get out of the truck, police said, but she began to raise her voice and become hysterical, according to the report. The driver, at this point, began taping the incident with his cell phone.

Police said the driver managed to obtain the woman again threatening to tell police he had raped her and responding to his question of why she would do such a thing with an answer of because he would not allow her to sexual service him in exchange for her car.

When Canman realized she was being filmed, she allegedly jumped onto the driver and began biting his arm while he held the phone out the window. As she continued to attack him, according to police, he opened the door and fell out of the truck, sustaining more injuries.

The police showed up on scene at this point. According to them, Canman claimed the driver had raped her during the ride. However, the driver showed the video to police, who said it corroborated his version of the story.

When police began to take Canman into custody, she allegedly asked if there was anything she could do for them to "take care of this and make it go away," since she has "a baby girl at home," according to authorities.

Canman was processed and charged with third-degree assault, second-degree threatening and second-degree breach of peace.

If the drived had not taped it, HE would be the one in jail. All she has to do is say it. Lucky or smart, does not matter, but glad he taped it.

Claiming you got raped so she could get her car? That's a very serious accusation. This poor guy could have been in jail and had to register as a sex offender the remainder of his life. For such a serious charge, this woman should spend the next 10 years behind bars like he would have done if he weren't smart enough to record her. And she should have to register to be a sex offender. This is a very disturbing story considering someone would make up such a damaging story to protect herself when she shouldn't have been driving in the first place. 2 thumbs up to the driver for his quick thinking
