"Running wild" is usually just an evocative phrase, but it seems to fit the description of what went on just after midnight on July 7 in the area of Sylvan and Birch roads.
Police gave this description:
In response to reports of youths running in the roadway and jumping in front of vehicles, police arrived near the intersection at 12:18 a.m. on Saturday, July 7.
Police also received a report that youths in the area were jumping onto vehicles and yelling obscenities at the occupants.
As police checked the area, they came across Jared Kindy, 18, of Old Oak Road and ordered him to halt. Kindy refused, and police later tracked him down and took him into custody.
Police could smell alcohol on Kindy, who admitted he had been at a party, although he wouldn't discuss the location of that party. Kindy was charged with disorderly conduct and interfering with an officer. He posted a $1,000 bond and was released pending a July 17 appearance in state Superior Court in Stamford.
