Darien Man, 19, Arrested for DWI

Police found David Christian Bognar, of Darien, parked next to an air pump at a local gas station.

A Darien Man was arrested at about 11:30 a.m. today after police received a report that a vehicle was missing a tire and being driven on its front rim near Heights Road and Noroton Avenue.

Officials found David Christian Bognar, 19, of Old Kings Highway North, Darien, parked next to an air pump at a local gas station, according to a Darien Police Department news release from earlier today. Bognar showed signs of intoxication and had a juvenile passenger who was unresponsive and allegedly under the influence of alcohol or drugs. The passenger was transported to the hospital.

When Bognar failed sobriety tests, he was placed under arrest, according to the press release. Police also determined he struck a nearby utility pole. He was charged with a DWI and evading responsibility. He was released  on a Promise To Appear in court on April 22.
