Darien police will stop cars to check for intoxicated drivers on Tokeneke Road in the area of Silver Lakes Drive from 10 p.m. Friday and past midnight into Saturday, police have announced.
Drivers "will be stopped temporarily and asked a series of questions to determine if additional sobriety testing is required," police said in a news release issued Tuesday morning. "Disruptions to the motoring public will be minimal."
Police described the location of the checkpoint as "on Tokeneke Road in the area of the 120 block near Silver Lakes Drive."
If the weather is bad or if for any other reason police can't conduct the checkpoint at that location, they'll move it to the Post Road near Ledge Road.
Editor's note: In June 2010, Darien police conducted their first DUI Sobriety Checkpoint. .
