As part of a DUI checkpoint operation on the Post Road between 11 p.m. Friday and 2:30 a.m. Saturday, Darien police spoke with a driver who later failed sobriety tests, police said.

The DUI checkpoint was conducted on the Post Road near its intersection with Ledge Road. At about 2 a.m., Lori Monte-Hubbard, 53, of Maplewood Avenue drove a 2010 Lexus RX350 eastbound on the Post Road up to the checkpoint.
An officer spoke with her and noticed that her eyes were glassy, then gave her field sobriety tests, which she failed.
Police arresteded Monte-Hubbard on a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol. She was later released on a $250 bond pending an appearance July 31 in state Superior Court in Stamford.
Stamford police and Connecticut state police helped Darien police conduct the DUI checkpoint operation.
