A 73-year-old man driving a 19-year-old pickup truck on Tokeneke Road last Tuesday now has a week-old charge of driving under the influence of alcohol, according to police.
Darien police gave the following account of the incident and arrest:
At about 1 a.m., a police officer saw a 1994 Ford F-150 pickup truck travelling south on Tokeneke Road. The officer noticed that the truck crossed the center line of the road several times.
The truck was stopped on Tokeneke Road near Pheasant Run, and the driver, Hugh Brown of Norwalk, was given field sobriety tests, which he failed.
Brown, of Grayrock Road, Norwalk, was charged with driving while under the influence and failure to drive right. He posted a $250 bond and is scheduled to appear April 19 in state Superior Court in Stamford.
