DUI Checkpoints in Darien: Thurs.-Fri. & Fri.-Sat.

Darien and Stamford police will conduct a sobriety checkpoint on Hoyt Street near Middlesex Road beginning at 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 22 through the ,  early morning hours of Friday.

But if the weather is bad the operation will be moved to the Post Road near Ledge Road.

Drivers  "will be stopped and asked a series of questions to determine if additional sobriety testing is required," according to a news release issued by Darien Police in a 2:33 p.m. email.


The news release continues:

"Disruption to the motoring public will be minimal. In the event of inclement weather the location will be moved to Post Road at Ledge Road.  

"An additional checkpoint will also be conducted with Stamford Police on the Post Road in the area of Richmond Drive beginning at 9 p.m. on Friday Aug. 23, and continuing into the early morning hours of Aug. 24."

If the weather gets too rainy, that operation will also be moved to the Post Road near Ledge Road.
