Duo Cashes in on Stolen Ring's End Goods

Darien Police are working to track down two thieves who they believe are working together to cash in on stolen goods from Ring's End Lumber.
At around 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 7, a female returned a Stanley 40-foot tape measurer valued at $36.99 and received $39.20 in cash, including tax. Store policy does not allow returns without a receipt. The same woman on Monday, Nov. 9 returned a pair of pliers valued at $35.99 and a pair of diagonal cutters valued at $29.99. She received $69.94 in cash.
The Wilton Ring’s End store reported a similar incident on Tuesday, Nov. 10 of a female accompanied by a male. The female received $98.55 in cash.

Police believe the male was stealing the items and the female was returning them for cash. A surveillance camera shows the male walking around the store; he is described as a white male, 5’10, medium build with short cropped blond hair and was seen driving a dark colored pick up truck. The female was driving a VW Jetta; no description was given on the female.
The Darien Ring’s End store believes there is another item missing but will not be sure until an inventory of the store is taken.

The matter is under investigation police say they have several leads in the case.
