A $5,000 watch was taken sometime Wednesday morning after a woman left it on a gym floor in Equinox Fitness Club, 72 Heights Rd., according to Darien police.
The watch is described as a gold Cartier with a broken sapphire dial on the side. The incident is described as a larceny.
The woman was about to start a fitness class at 9:30 a.m. when she took off the watch, police said. By the end of the class, she apparently forgot about it, because she neglected to retrieve it, police said.
She returned to the fitness club at 11:30 a.m. to try to get it back, but it wasn't there, and no one had turned it in.
